Job Description
This position is a hybrid role that requires the Senior Analyst to work in the office 2-3 days a week.
Position Purpose:
This position will be a part of the Raw Materials Procurement Team and will be responsible for planning, analyzing, executing, optimizing and measuring key transportation opportunities for inbound and outbound for both international and domestic transport. This will require responsibility and coordination throughout the entire supply chain utilizing strong industry knowledge to identify optimization opportunities to reduce costs and maximize carrier and supplier performance. This individual will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels of Raw Materials. They will also be responsible for analyzing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
Key Accountabilities:
Building and maintaining relationships with all domestic and international carriers
Responsible for tracking shipments and negotiating Incoterms
Monitor all inventory levels to ensure timely delivery and maintain all metrics for performance
Report raw material shipment tracking details on a daily basis giving maximum visibility of the inbound supply chain to internal customers
Balance Raw Materials within service center network
Perform root cause analysis of service failures, developing plans to reduce/eliminate these occurrences and reporting finding/solutions with recommendations to Management
Creates and analyzes KPIs and metrics to support the business
Creating routing guidelines for all freight movement and updating appropriately to ensure cost effectiveness and efficiency in the Supply Chain
Coordinate shipping instructions with overseas and domestic suppliers, customs brokers, transporters and freight forwarders approving exceptions to Supply Chain guidelines
Support Asset Recovery for all international movements in regard to transportation costs and establishing supply chains in accordance with ISPM 15 regulations
Continual analysis of CHEP Supply Chain driving out inefficiencies and costs
Expedites critical issues and manages supplier and carrier information for on time delivery schedule, communicating with Sourcing, Planning and Operations
Facilitates communication between CHEP contracted carriers and CHEP suppliers for efficiencies on booking, loading and routing CHEP freight correctly
Enhances bottom-line results through the effective negotiation, management, communication, and follow-up of detention and demurrage opportunities
Coordinates with Planning, Sourcing, Logistics, and Operations within CHEP globally to derive a comprehensive, service-oriented, lowest landed cost transportation solution for CHEP
Support Decarbonization/Sustainability initiatives
Serve as a resource for operations and procurement sourcing. This includes but is not limited to providing reports, data related information, knowledge of systems
Drives BVA through the identification, recommendation, bidding, and implementation of alternative sourcing initiatives including, but not limited to, intermodal and barging solutions

Qualifications:
BS in Supply Chain, Business, or equivalent experience
5-10 years of experience in International Transportation or Supply Chain Analytics
Experience:
Detailed knowledge of the international transportation industry including ocean, rail, barge, drayage, FCL, LCL, and airfreight
Knowledge of standard transportation import and export procedures and US DOT requirements
Advanced experience with international transportation pricing methods and practices, customs entry processes and brokerage/clearance requirements preferred
Demonstrated experience negotiating commercial terms for both master transportation agreements and ad hoc projects with freight forwarders, NVOCCs, customs brokers and steam ship lines
Fundamental understanding of CHEP Global Operations and business segments preferred
Thorough understanding of the CHEP Network pallet flows and seasonality preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of business rules and processes
Good problem solving, organization, and time management skills
Customer service oriented and able to handle large volumes of inquiries
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), SAP R/3 and Business Warehouse
