Position Overview:

The purpose of this role is to develop and implement a safety transformational strategy across the LATAM region.  Aligned with our global strategy in a very dynamic context across the region, lead a health & safety culture step change and accelerate the progress of our system capabilities, infrastructure and programs while ensuring best-in-class leadership and network orchestration through partnership, governance and innovation

Key Responsibilities:

  • Elevate the long-term strategy and the step change plan, implement quick wins, and the mid-term initiatives for safety culture transformation in Latin America, in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, such as bottlers, vendors, public policy, and government agencies.

  • Champion safety and health organizational strategies, infuse your innovative ideas, and embed a proactive safety culture deep into our operational processes and company values.

  • Shape, steward, and fast-track safety initiatives across the Operating Unit, ensuring optimal alignment with our global Occupational Safety and health commitments.

  • Create a ripple effect of change and influence across safety governance, compliance, and innovation schemes, all aimed at protecting our employees and elevating our regional and global reputation.

  • Take charge of essential organizational and capital expenditure decisions related to Occupational Safety.

  • Demonstrate adaptive leadership in managing safety incidents and crisis resolution.

  • Act as a true business partner to go above and beyond the role to embed Safety in the business and make connections between Safety and business outcomes (short/long term).

Key Focus Areas:

Safety & Health Culture (S&H) and Performance Excellence:

  • Lead the Occupational Safety and health culture transformation to ensure excellence is a core value embedded in everything we do across the system.

  • Direct the overall S&H culture transformation to build and manage the excellence performance enablement systems and programs.

  • Improve our System KPIs performance and progress that accelerates business results.

Safety and Health Strategy:

  • As a key member of the LATAM Quality, Safety & Environment (QSE) leadership team, ensure within the global Occupational Safety and health strategy and commitments, the most optimum and accelerated implementation of the LATAM Occupational Safety strategy.

  • Ensure accelerated progress of the S&H systems and programs while ensuring best-in-class leadership through partnership, governance and innovation across the Beverages for Life (B4L) supply chains.

  • In collaboration with Corporate, Technical Innovation & Supply Chain functional heads, Customer & Commercial, Franchise Bottlers, Occupational Safety Lead, influences the operating unit (OU) and regional S&H agenda and investments.

Governance, Compliance:

  • Ensure all license to operate and that KORE sustainability requirements and OU governance are in place and in line with the global governance framework requirements.

Innovation:

  • Ensure occupational S&H innovation initiatives.

  • Lead the implementation support for all S&H aspects that protects our people and enhances our regional and corporate reputation.

OU Safety and Health Network Orchestration:

  • Drive organizational alignment on operational S&H across Regions, Bottling partners and Corporate Safety & Environmental (S&E).

  • Active contributor in the Global S&E Council.

  • Champion Coca-Cola S&H and overall culture and strategies in the LATAM region to enable execution and culture development.

  • Bring the external view in, drive external engagement and benchmarking, and ensure leadership presence in industry associations.

Candidate Profile:

  • Proven track record of leading a large-scale safety transformation and managing change from a safety culture viewpoint. Experience gained in industries such as chemical, oil & gas, automobile, pharmaceutical etc.

  • Strong external perspective and safety culture practices to propose and implement transformative safety measures applicable to our business framework.

  • Technical / Safety operations > 8 – 10 years of experience

  • Proven leadership expertise with a distinguished history in directing large-scale transformations and orchestrating effective change management programs.

  • Deep-rooted operational experience combined with a strong foundation in setting up and running health & safety leadership and management systems.

  • Exceptional communication skills (in English and Spanish), capable of simplifying and translating complex concepts into tangible business insights.

  • Ability to influence, inspire, and foster a culture of safety and empathy within diverse teams.

  • Resilient and agile, ready to leverage crisis situations towards creating long-lasting improvements.

Location: Mexico or  Brazil preferred
