EMC strives to hire and retain the best people by engaging, developing and rewarding employees.Essential Functions:Effectively manages all branch operations and the EMC value proposition to achieve profitable growth in the assigned branch territory, in alignment with the one and three-year branch plans and corporate operating and strategic plansManages all aspects of the branch plan including new and renewal business, appropriate rate levels, quality of the book of business, and key expenses in each departmentIdentifies underrepresented geographical areas to maximize spread of riskWorks with branch and corporate teams in the budgeting process for growth that is reasonable given the market potential, and ensures effective use of resources.Manages and develops branch leadership teamResponsible for the overall agency management process of the branch operationRegularly evaluates agency performance including key criteria, such as production growth, profitability, business mix, and retention.Evaluates market conditions and recommends changes in agency representation within the assigned territory as necessary.Oversees the approval of new agency appointments, continual evaluation of agency plant through an ongoing agency review process and subsequent development of action plans, agency planning and goal setting, agency rehabilitation plans and terminations when necessary.Leads the branch through effective consultative use of corporate departments and integrating EMC National Life Company into branch marketing efforts.Works collaboratively with other branches regarding agency relationships, specific account opportunities and underwriting appetites.Integrates EMCNL into branch marketing efforts and successfully communicates the EMCNL value proposition to agents.Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experienceTen years of property and casualty experience with increasing roles of responsibilityExperience managing and leading a department or business unit preferredManagement experience involving multiple lines of business preferredProfessional insurance designations highly preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Excellent knowledge of property and casualty insurance and market conditionsExcellent knowledge of marketing and salesSuperior communication, leadership and interpersonal skillsAbility to manage, direct, lead and coordinate othersExceptional organizational and analytical abilitiesOccasional travel, valid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle report per company standards will be required if travelingOur employment practices are in accordance with the laws that prohibit discrimination due to race, color, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, religion, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, medical condition, veteran status, active military status, citizenship status, marital status or any other consideration made unlawful by federal, state, or local laws.All of our locations are tobacco free including in company vehicles.To learn more about why you’re gonna love it here, watch the video below.
