What will you do as a Senior Marketing and Communication Specialist?
As the Senior Marketing and Communication Specialist, you will be working as part of the HR & Communication team. In this role, you will be responsible for liaising with colleagues across all USA & Canada and senior leaders across our functions and global, where you will proactively engage with and deliver our internal communications strategy focused on all aspects of planning, coordinating, and execution of marketing communications initiatives. You’ll play an active role in creating and executing campaigns that bring to life our employee engagement strategy.

What do we expect from you as a Senior Marketing and Communication Specialist?
Experience in a communications team, especially internal communication, for a large organization with experience of writing for a variety of different audiences is also desired.
4+ years experience delivering high-impact internal communications programs.
BS/BA degree in Public Relations, Digital Media, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field from an accredited college or university, plus two (2) years of relevant experience
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills required, as well as integration, coordination, and presentation skills, and an ability to thrive in a deadline-driven environment
Ability to work well under pressure while managing multiple projects, priorities, stakeholders and deadlines simultaneously in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Thrives in a team environment and has a track record of forging trusted relationships and working collaboratively with senior leaders, multiple stakeholders, and various levels in the organization
Creative and innovative, technology transformations, diversity initiatives and reporting highly desirable
Demonstrates and practice an understanding of Vopak brand purpose and embraces corporate values
Actively finds and implements solutions to problems and challenges
Due to the global nature of the team, a degree of flexible working will be required to accommodate different time zones
Experience in community relations, event management, or similar roles
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with the Adobe Create Suite – (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop) is a plus
What does your day look like?
Your core responsibilities are:
Lead the planning and delivering regular cadence of internal communication, craft compelling content for a variety of internal communications mediums, such as a staff intranet, digital signage, videos, email communications to effectively convey key initiatives and updates
Develop and execute effective communication strategies to foster engagement and alignment among employees
Facilitate transparent and effective internal communication between Global external communication for employees, ensuring consistency, alignment, and engagement
Contribute to employer branding efforts by creating content for recruitment materials and internal communications to help attract top talent and enhance organization’s reputation
Coordinate the development of customer facing and internal projects such as digital tools, brand and marketing materials, promotional items, and other projects that support Marketing and sales initiatives. This includes building and maintaining relationships with both direct and indirect internal and external resources to fulfill this role
Conduct all work in accordance with the company’s mission, vision, and core values
Support partners’ and stakeholders’ in organizing events that showcase the Company’s culture and values
Develop and implement event plans, budgets, and logistics, to meet the expectations and needs of the participants and stakeholders
Develop and distribute internal communications such as newsletters, emails, and announcements to keep employees informed on company news
Develop and refine the President’s tone of voice and thought leadership (content and subject matter), preparation for town halls/customer meetings, etc
Formulate comprehensive communication strategies that support business objectives, and evaluate opportunities to increase collaboration and efficiency as the business scales
Help monitor and manage the SEO platform
Support the internal communication response to crisis situations which affect organizational perception and reputation
Serve as a resource on Public Relations/Community Relations competencies and work with Global on media relations
