Working as a Technical Product Manager, you will be a key member of the marketing and sales team in Analytical, Process Automation Measurement & Analytics (PAMA), defining marketing plans, including marketing communication, training and sales initiatives.Working in the Process Gas Chromatograph (PGC) product team, you will be working with internal teams to maintain the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Reporting to the Global PGC Product Manager, you will perform various product/system/service life cycle activities to assist in the development, launch, maintenance, and profitability of gas chromatograph product line produced in Bartlesville, OK.

Your responsibilities

  • Support Product Management team to develop and implement business strategies for newly defined areas and market segments in agreement with the PGC Product Line strategy through the global selling units
  • Ensure and support the portfolio objectives into the key global markets
  • Support growth in key global markets according to the defined targets.
  • Target the major accounts to get onto Approved Vendor Lists, review and influence customer specifications, identify PGC solutions to meet customer needs and provide inputs to the Global Product Line on pricing strategies, countries, segments, industries and accounts
  • Collaborate with and support the Product Line Product management team and Sales to define and document required product enhancements that enables market penetration towards targets, acting as the interface between the factory and the local selling units by maintaining competitive knowledge base and serve as a technical expert for the product line
  • Identify market segments and applications to target across the industries, territories and accounts in alignment with strategic business opportunities based on analysis and product line strategy
  • Help guide, motivate and develop marketing and sales teams through training and customer events. Develop and distribute, technical and marketing materials and participate in industry events and exhibitions by providing support during technical meetings and product presentations
  • Take ownership of specific customer cases to ensure efficient customer issue resolution, analyze lost opportunities to increase future competitiveness, provide post sales customer support and collaborate with service and factory quality teams to ensure customer satisfaction within our installed base
  • Collaborate with the Product Line Product management team and Sales to define and implement the marketing plans, including marketing communication activities, training activities and sales initiatives

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical, Industrial Design or equivalent from an accredited college or at least 8 to 10 years of experience in a related field of knowledge
  • Experience with PGC products and industries preferred
  • Prior experience with Technical Sales and Service or Product Development and Management on PGC technologies preferred
  • Knowledge of Oil and Gas, Petrochemical and/or Chemical product applications preferred
  • Excellent technical training, speaking and writing skills, with ability to independently conduct presentations and training
  • Ability to travel up to 20 to 25 percent
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
