Blue Bottle is writing a new chapter in the story and traditions of coffee, food, and hospitality, and the People team is helping us build the company and culture to do it. Our Sr. People Partner Manager will be responsible for partners and align business units with People functions. Provides leaders and managers with consulting and guidance to support our vision, mission, overarching objectives, core pillars, and values. In addition, they are accountable for delivering comprehensive, guest-focused people services and for aligning people management and business strategies.

You will:
  • Strategically lead and manage a team of People Partners in daily people operations in the US, ensuring the highest levels of employee engagement and satisfaction
  • Serve as the People Partner for regional leaders and administrative staff in North America regions; and as the direct manager for the People Partners who support our production and retail teams
  • Contribute to the development and execution of People related initiatives based on an understanding of different perspectives; gather agreement with stakeholders before implementing the initiatives
  • Provide thought leadership regarding organizational and people-related strategy and execution
  • Establish company policies and procedures for the locations we support
  • Provide insights and solutions to both internal and external customers to achieve positive results beyond highlighting issues
  • Provide leadership to reporting staff with clear direction, regular honest feedback and personal development
  • Counsel managers and/or employees on employment issues, including investigations of complaints or concerns, focusing on promoting a high level of employee morale and establishing a positive employer/employee relationship
  • Proactively and effectively address complex people operations issues; mitigating risk and managing situations that result in the best possible outcomes for the company, teams, and people
  • Consistently review existing processes, systems, and policies for improvement. Develop and adapt to change with the collaboration of all relevant key internal stakeholders to produce the most effective outcome
  • Ensures compliance with all employment and labor laws locally - we are always meeting and sometimes exceeding our legal and compliance obligations
  • Proactively implement and execute foundational employee trainings
  • Work closely to align the local People practices with Blue Bottle’s guidelines and initiatives
You are:

You have:
  • At least 8 years HR experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of which would be working at a managerial level preferably
  • Led HR team in a high-growth environment with a team supporting employees distributed across multiple locations
  • Expertise in core HR service functions such as benefits, workers’ comp, payroll, employee relations
  • Experience in retail, hospitality, food/beverage industries is strongly preferred
  • Broad and deep experience in all areas of HR including Employee Relations, Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Training, and Organizational Design
  • Great understanding of employment/labor laws for the areas in which we operate
  • Prior success in implementing HR policies and strategy from the ground up
  • Last but not least, a deep love for great coffee, food, and exceptional customer experiences
Physical Requirements:

Travel:
  • This role requires travel up to 25%. Additional walking, stooping, sitting, and mobility may be required. Exposure to outside environmental elements may be experienced due to travel through airports, airplanes, and in between facilities

  • This position has a minimum salary of $142,860. This salary is a good-faith estimate for this position. The final salary offer will be determined after reviewing relevant factors, which include a candidate's qualifications and experience, where appropriate.

$142,860 - $165,000 a year
